When someone asks if you’re okay,
You aren’t allowed to say no.
Instead, you smile and politely say
But you give no hint that you’re fine, maybe
As the single thread which is left holding you together.
You can’t say that you’re as fine
As the cracked and brittle china out of which
you are sure your body is made.
You aren’t allowed to be anything but okay.
So yeah, I’m fine,
Thank you for asking.
How are you?
